Interventional pain management procedures are medical treatments performed to alleviate or manage chronic pain by directly targeting the source of the pain. These procedures are typically used when conservative treatments like medication, physical therapy, or lifestyle changes have not provided sufficient relief.

Pain management specialists or interventional pain physicians usually carry out interventional pain management procedures. They use various techniques to diagnose and treat pain conditions, often utilizing image guidance such as X-ray or fluoroscopy to ensure precise targeting of the affected area.

Standard interventional pain management procedures include Epidural Steroid Injections (ESIs), Facet Joint Injections/Medial Branch Blocks, Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Sympathetic Nerve Blocks, Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), and Intrathecal Drug Delivery.

These are just a few examples of interventional pain management procedures. The choice of procedure depends on the specific pain condition, its underlying cause, and the individual patient’s needs and preferences. It’s essential to consult a qualified pain specialist to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your situation.

Different Ways to Manage Pain

It’s important to note that pain management should be personalized for each individual based on the type and severity of their pain, overall health condition, and medical history. Consulting with Clearway Pain Management, Crestview, Florida, is essential to develop an effective and safe pain management plan.

One of the most common approaches involves using analgesic medications. These can be over-the-counter drugs like acetaminophen or ibuprofen or prescription medications such as opioids for severe pain. It’s crucial to use these medications under the guidance of Clearway Pain Solutions in Crestview, Florida, to prevent dependency or side effects.

A structured exercise and rehabilitation program that helps improve mobility, strength, and flexibility while reducing pain. Physical therapists use techniques like stretching, strengthening, and manual therapy to target specific pain areas and improve overall function.

Chronic pain can often lead to emotional distress and vice versa. Psychological interventions like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) can address pain’s emotional impact, reduce anxiety, and develop coping mechanisms.

These minimally invasive procedures can be used for specific conditions to alleviate pain directly. Examples include nerve blocks, epidural injections, and radiofrequency ablation.

An alternative therapy from traditional Chinese medicine involves inserting fine needles into specific points on the body to release blocked energy (qi) and reduce pain.

This therapy involves using a TENS device to deliver electrical impulses to nerve pathways, which can help reduce pain signals and provide relief.

Clearway Chiropractic care centers around the connection between the body’s structure and functionality. Our chiropractors employ well-established techniques to realign the spine and address misalignments and other treatments to alleviate pain and enhance patients’ mobility effectively. Chiropractic treatments are currently offered at our Pain Clinic Crestview, Florida location.

Applying heat (like heating pads) or cold (ice packs) to the affected area can help decrease inflammation, soothe muscles, and relieve temporary pain.

Practicing mindfulness and meditation can help individuals manage their pain by reducing stress and promoting relaxation.

Low-impact exercises, like swimming or yoga, can help increase endorphin levels, which are natural painkillers, and improve overall well-being.

Healthy choices, such as maintaining a balanced diet, getting adequate sleep, and managing stress, can contribute to pain management.

Joining support groups or connecting with others with similar pain experiences can provide emotional support and valuable insights into coping with pain.

Using assistive devices like braces, canes, or orthotics can help support the body and reduce pain during daily activities.

The staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I have had two appointments and one procedure that all went well, just the wait times are a little excessive. For the three visits, I have almost three hours of waiting. Other than that I am well pleased with my care!

I walked up to the receptionist area and was greeted by the sweetest smile and a voice filled with merriment. The Receptionist treated everyone with the same warmth.

The nurse called me back and was efficient and attentive. When I related my situation with a new doctor appointment elsewhere, she quickly related it to Doctor Diadema Barefield.

Dr. D came in immediately with her usual smile and little giggle and said she would get me through as quickly as possible without excluding pertinent information. She did as promised and left in time to make my other appointment.

These people are very professional and I have to say I've never seen a great service so abused by patients/ customers. They didn't break or fold. From the front desk to the assistants from the back ,when I witnessed them being mistreated by customers, they were still... Patient, kind, and loving. They will get the best , because they deserve it. As for me and my family (a patient) we are very grateful for all of you,the team effort is everything to those in need, and you all rock.
