Your Ultimate Bahamas Travel Guide - The Best Things to Do! - Today With Tayla (1)

Ever since I watched Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s “Holiday in the Sun,” I was dying to go to the Bahamas and stay at the Atlantis Resort. Fast forward fifteen years and I finally got to live out my Bahamas dreams! Over a year later I am finally getting around to sharing my Bahamas travel guide! Here is my Bahamas Travel Guide.

Bahamas Travel Guide Part 1: Where to Stay

I stayed at the Atlantis Resort with my sister for 5 nights in February 2019. We personally loved staying there. Not only did we get to live out all our Mary-Kate and Ashley dreams, there was so much to see and do at the resort, you literally don’t have to leave if you don’t want to!

Our favorite thing at the Atlantis was definitely the pools and the water park. I loved trying out all the waterslides and going on the lazy river! The beaches were also beautiful, and there were so many different pools to choose from.

If I was to return to Atlantis I would definitely stay at the Cove, as it has an adult only pool and looks like such a beautiful part of the resort.

Next time I go to the Bahamas I want to visit Baha Mar. We didn’t stay there or visit this time, but I have heard such good things about it!

Bahamas Travel Guide Part 2: Where to Eat and Drink

There is certainly no shortage of places to eat and drink, both within the Atlantis Resort and around Nassau. Here were a few of our favorites.

Margaritaville: We loved eating at Margaritaville. I know its super touristy, but the food and drinks were really good and it was a very short walk from the hotel. It is also located on the water, so it was just a really nice place to relax and eat your meal.

Senor Frogs: Senor Frogs is an absolute must! We had so much fun going there, it had great drink details and was such a fun bar to dance at.

Visit the restaurants on W Bay Street: Go down to W Bay Street and eat at a restaurant in the Fish Fry area. This is more authentic Caribbean food, and we had such good seafood there.

There are so many great bars within Atlantis to visit too! We went to the Coral Pool which has a swim-up pool bar and that was definitely my favorite.

Another notable mention is Nobu. We didn’t eat there because it is pretty expensive, and my sister doesn’t love sushi and Japanese food so it wasn’t worth it for us. If I go back I will definitely be eating there!

Bahamas Travel Guide Part 3: What to Do

Visit the Atlantis: Even if you don’t stay at the Atlantis, it is definitely worth visiting. If you want to do the Water Park activities it is $157 for a day pass for adults. This is another reason why we chose to stay at the Atlantis, because all the pools and water activities are included in your room price.

Swim with the pigs and sharks: The highlight of my trip was definitely swimming with the pigs! What was great about the tour is that we got to swim with pigs, sharks, and see the iguanas. It had so many Instagram photo opportunities as well, like when we visited the sand bars that had some of the clearest water I have ever seen and went into Thunderball Grotto!

We went with 3N’s Staniel Cay Vacationsand I cannot say enough good things about them! Rather then take a boat to Exuma from Nassau, with 3N’s you fly, which I would much rather prefer to spending hours on a boat. You still take a boat, but you spend significantly less time on the boat. Also make sure to take sunscreen for the boat, I got so sunburnt it was ridiculous!!

Queens Staircase (also peep my sunburn from the day on the boat!)

Explore Nassau: I think you should definitely take some time to get away from your resort and checkout downtown Nassau. We had a lot of fun wondering around, and visited the Queens Staircase which was really cool too. Senor Frogs was in downtown Nassau, and there were a lot of other great places to eat and drink too.

Do water activities: We went parasailing, jet skiing, banana boating and snorkelling while we were in the Bahamas! There are so many different options of things to do, but we went with Paradise Oceansports, and did the Total Package, which gave us all the activities we wanted and also included lunch.

Bahamas Travel Guide Part 4: Budgeting for the Bahamas

I was actually surprised by the price of everything in the Bahamas! It was a lot more expensive then I had anticipated. If you are planning on eating out all three meals, it will cost the same if not slightly more then eating out in the US. To spend less money we got our breakfast usually from Dunkin, as we didn’t feel the need to eat out all three meals. If you are planning on doing a lot of activities such as swimming with the dolphins, they can get quite expensive, so definitely research what you are wanting to do and budget accordingly!

Thank you so much for reading my Bahamas travel guide. I had so much fun writing this Bahamas travel guide, as I honestly loved visiting, and wish I had written it sooner! If you want more travel guides similar to this Bahamas travel guide, let me know below. As always, thanks for reading!
