Facing the rising tide of diabetes can feel overwhelming, but what if taking control started with just one step? NOVI Health is challenging Singaporeans to do just that with their new campaign, "It starts with one: Taking charge this world diabetes month." This initiative aims to boost awareness, encourage healthier habits, and support the diabetes community throughout November.
This campaign is packed with a variety of resources, including educational events, digital content, and community activities, all designed to empower Singaporeans to manage their metabolic health.
At the heart of the campaign is a live webinar titled "Thriving with diabetes at work and beyond." This webinar will be led by Dr. Sue-Anne Toh, the founder, CEO, and medical director of NOVI Health. With nearly two decades of experience as a senior consultant in endocrinology, Dr. Toh will share practical strategies for managing diabetes and creating healthier work environments.
But that's not all! NOVI Health is also rolling out a series of doctor-approved videos on diabetes prevention, a "This vs. That" nutrition guide, and a showcase of healthy recipes created by their in-house dietitians. The goal? To make preventative care more accessible and help individuals make lasting lifestyle changes.
To further extend their reach, NOVI Health doctors will participate in the World Diabetes Day Festival at Toa Payoh HDB Mall on November 16th, offering free lifestyle consultations to help attendees assess and manage their diabetes risk.
Dr. Toh emphasizes that early intervention is key. "Diabetes isn’t an overnight diagnosis — it’s a gradual process. Through this campaign, we want Singaporeans to know that prevention can start today, with one choice, one meal, one step," she stated.
And this is the part most people miss... The campaign will culminate in the Diabetes Walkathon 2025 on November 22nd, a 5km fundraising event supporting the Diabetes Society of Singapore. All proceeds from the walkathon will go towards raising diabetes awareness and funding community programs for those living with the condition.
NOVI Health hopes that "It starts with one" will inspire small, manageable changes that, when combined, can create a healthier, more diabetes-aware Singapore.
Here's a twist: The campaign follows the appointment of Tempest-Jody Larrichia, former Chief Marketing Officer of Flash Coffee, as NOVI Health's head of growth. Larrichia's focus is on aligning the brand across all platforms, including social media, advertising, community engagement, partnerships, and the overall look and feel of NOVI's clinics. This will also extend to client experiences, unifying communications, customer service, and packaging.
Could this focus on brand alignment be a strategic move to better connect with and educate the public? What do you think about the emphasis on preventative measures and community involvement? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
