The "Olmsted County Detention Center Currently Confined Inmates" list is operated by the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office for the benefit of the citizens of Olmsted County.

The intended use is to provide citizens with the opportunity to identify current jail inmates, and determine their bail amount and associated booking information.

Sending a Mail

If you wish to mail a letter or a package to an inmate, please address your mail as follows:

All mail sent to an inmate at the Olmsted County Detention Center must include the sender's name and mailing address in the top left corner of the envelope.

Failure to include your return address will result in your mail NOT being delivered and your letter destroyed.

Sending Money

If you wish to provide money to someone currently incarcerated, mail a money order in the person’s name to the Olmsted County Detention Center 's address.

Money may be deposited into inmates’ accounts via the automated Kiosk in the jail lobby. At this time, the kiosk accepts CASH ONLY. There is a fee of $2.50 per transaction. The kiosk is available for use 24/7

Phone Calls

Inmates booked into the Olmsted County Detention Center have access to payphones managed by Paytel Communications from 10:00am to 10:00pm. No incoming calls are allowed.

If you have problems receiving calls from the Jail, contact Paytel at 1.800.729.8355.

You can get a local number your inmate can call that will ring your phone and/or those of other family and friends.

An inmate can then make their calls using the local number rate while talking to friends and family long distance.

Visiting Rules

Visitation is currently held Monday through Friday.

Visitors must be on the inmate’s requested visitation sheet and have a valid state issued ID (minors excluded) or a valid United States Passport. Visits are held in a small room that has about five telephones, which inmates and visitors talk into and see each other through a glass window. All visitations are monitored by staff.
