It’s always great for me to catch players I hadn’t seen or seen enough of or in the case of Kayleigh Murphy, I was beginning to think she was an “URBAN LEGEND” however Murphy laid down the law in front of me, no pun intended . On another note, I was so impressed with the Broaddus high school squad thatI’m dropping something on them as they are looking like a state contender in the 1A Classification, but first

Murphy immediately grabbed my attention watching her gabbing rebounds and since she understood not only how to use her frame but also get positioning around the basket, that was a huge plus yet her intensity sort of gives you an idea in this tweet. She finished inside the paint, she also defended strongly but watching her “never take a play off” was special

Lee is a long and athletic guard who uses her athleticism on both ends of the court and that is always going to be a plus in my book. Her “on the ball” defense baseline to baseline coupled with her quick hands got her some steals yet so did playing the passing lane and a couple of times, she came from out of nowhere for the interception which led to a touchdown, well the 2 point conversion. She also dd a good scoring off the dribble

Ross popped up at the right time as I’m updating the 2028 Watchlist tomorrow on PLAYERS I HAVE SEEN and her upside alone is going to to grab her a spot. She’s a “long and athletic” guard with a pull-up jumper and can also “catch and shoot” it. She boxes out under the basket and played solid “on the ball” defense plus, she’s playing up

Harris was another athletic guard who brought heat on both ends of the court so seeing her apply pressure baseline to baseline and come away with steals was nice, yet was her handling the ball and seeing the floor while being defended. Her court vision across the board was nice, she also scored off the dribble

Jones is “long and athletic” which is the base in case you didn’t know so her intangibles will separate her from that crowded group as her game progresses on the court. Right now, her timing is a big plus as she blocked, altered and (or) deflected shots, plus she rebounded on both ends of the court yet seeing her go “coast to coast” to score was nice

Carvalho was another “long and athletic” player, yeah it’s still the base, who impressed me because when I write UPS, that should give you an idea yet let me break it down. She’s explosive off the ground and that helped enable her to get rebounds and the get the break start yet it also benefitted her to challenge shots when the offensive player attacked the basket

Castillo showed the game starts at the 1 and she was one of the top point guards on opening day that I caught. Well, I almost could catch her if I blinked because she was also one of the most explosive players off the dribble and with her ability to control the tempo and set her teammates up for baskets, that was enough but she’s an athletic guard who not only defended on the ball but scored off the dribble. #sizedontmatter when you can play and her “catch and shoot” 3 dropped the mic
It's always great for me to catch players I hadn't seen or seen enough of or in the case of Kayleigh Murphy, I was beginning to think she was an "URBAN LEGEND" however Murphy laid down the law in front of me, no pun intended . On another note, I was so impressed with the Broaddus high school squad thatI'm dropping something on them as they are looking like a state contender in the 1A Classification, but first
