Hold on tight, because things got electrifying on Bigg Boss 19! Comedian Pranit More dared to roast Bollywood heavyweight Rohit Shetty, and the filmmaker's response was nothing short of epic. You might think, 'Just another celebrity roast, what's the big deal?' But here's where it gets controversial... it involved electric shocks!
For those who missed it, Rohit Shetty (known for his action-packed films and car explosions) stepped into Salman Khan's shoes as the host for the Weekend Ka Vaar episode. This alone was a surprise, as Salman has been a Bigg Boss staple for years. The episode's promo promised some tough love for the contestants, but also a fun twist: giving comedian Pranit More the stage to roast him, just like Pranit had done before with other Bollywood icons like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn.
Pranit didn't hold back. He joked about Rohit Shetty's action direction in Khatron Ke Khiladi, and then went straight for the jugular, quipping about the massive budget of Shetty's film Dilwale: "Rohit sir is so talented; he’s perfect as the host of Khatron Ke Khiladi. He jumps off a moving car, but the biggest danger was spending ₹100 crore on Dilwale.” Shetty, a good sport, corrected him: "₹150 crore.” Pranit continued, adding, “He respects the police so much that he puts them at the centre of all his films. The police respect him so much in return that when there’s a checkpoint, Rohit sir is the one who checks their vehicles, and the police tell him, ‘Let us go, sir.’” The jokes landed well, with everyone, including Rohit Shetty himself, erupting in laughter.
And this is the part most people miss... the story doesn't end with a simple roast. Shetty, known for his playful side, had a shocking (literally!) response prepared. As part of a challenge, contestants were fitted with shock bands on their arms. The promo shows Shetty, with a glint in his eye, telling Pranit, “Salman ka, Shah Rukh ka, Ajay ka sabka badla lega re tera Shetty (Your Shetty will avenge everyone, Salman, Shah Rukh, Ajay, all of them),” as he oversees Pranit getting zapped with electric shocks.
This, of course, begs the question: Was it all in good fun, or did Rohit Shetty take the roast a little too personally? Some argue that the electric shocks were a harmless gag, a lighthearted way for Shetty to show he could take a joke and dish one out too. Others might see it as a bit much, a power move that crosses the line between humor and something a little more…uncomfortable. What do you think?
Beyond the roast and the shocks, the episode also saw Rohit Shetty addressing serious issues within the Bigg Boss house. He called out Amaal Mallik and Shehbaz Badesha for accusing Bigg Boss of bias, advised Ashnoor Kaur to focus on her individual game, urged Farrhana Bhatt to watch her language, praised Malti Chahar for her strong stances, and defended Gaurav Khanna's decision to prioritize captaincy over rations. So, it wasn't all jokes and jolts; Shetty also offered some valuable guidance to the contestants. The full episode can be streamed on JioHotstar at 9 pm and viewed on Colors TV at 10:30 pm.
